Position: Application Authentication Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Authentication Engineer to join our team in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh (IN-AP), India (IN). As an Application Authentication Engineer, you will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of HSBC's enterprise-wide applications through the Central Directory Services environment. You will serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical leadership in application authentication via Central Directory Services, including Active Directory (AD), Lightweight Directory Services (LDS), Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), and Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).

Job Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement, and maintain authentication frameworks for enterprise applications using Central Directory Services.
2. Lead the integration of Active Directory, LDS, ADFS, and Azure AD into applications to ensure secure access management.
3. Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to establish best practices for application authentication and identity management.
4. Conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies for security vulnerabilities related to application authentication.
5. Monitor and troubleshoot authentication issues, ensuring system availability and performance.
6. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in application authentication and identity management.
7. Document processes, configurations, and architectural designs for knowledge transfer and maintenance.
8. Provide technical training and mentorship to junior team members.
9. Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet business and compliance needs.

Technical Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in application authentication or identity management.
• Strong understanding of directory services technologies, including Active Directory, LDAP, ADFS, and Azure AD.
• Experience with identity federation, SSO, and MFA implementations.
• Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, especially Azure services.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and team collaboration abilities.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Desired Experience:

Experience working in a regulated banking or financial environment is preferred.
