Job description

The Innovation & Enterprise Division at A*STAR, Singapore is responsible for the commercialization and technology transfer of A*STAR's technologies to external companies that are ready for market adoption. The Innovation & Enterprise division is the external industry facing division of A*STAR and go-to division for all matters related from initial negotiations to post-project services for key accounts. The MedTech/Dx/Digital Health industry cluster is one of nine industry clusters responsible for translational pipeline in the medical device, in-vitro diagnostics and digital health segments.

Job Responsibilities

1. Provide inputs to or lead development of strategies according to economic and national agenda, including strengthening linkages with internal research performers and external agencies and industry stakeholders.
2. Be familiar with the various technological capabilities within A*STAR that can be applied to either one of the applications: Medical technologies, diagnostics, precision medicine and digital health.
3. Evaluate, scope and execute high potential technology development projects through the various funding schemes available to develop projects towards commercialization.
4. Engage with industry and develop key accounts whilst generating licensing pipeline to successfully tech transfer A*STAR's technologies.
5. Communicate regularly and effectively with A*STAR researchers, public sector clinicians and industry to conceptualize and design novel, clinically relevant and commercially viable digital health solutions for clinical and research use, and advise on utilization of healthcare data for collaboration.
6. Work closely with colleagues within Innovation & Enterprise Division e.g. Intellectual Property Management, Venture Creation and across A*STAR to achieve impactful outcomes.

Requirements

1. BS, MS, or PhD in engineering, bioinformatics, life sciences or related field.
2. >8 years of work experience in business development, product development, field application and/or project management in either MedTech, Diagnostics or Digital Health field.
3. Possess an understanding of local healthcare innovation ecosystem players and established network along the device development value chain.
4. Experience in front-facing engagements dealing with vendors, key accounts, stakeholders.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication of concepts, ideas, and processes, including the ability to synthesize data.
6. Able to work within a small, dynamic team.

Reporting

The position will report to the Director, MedTech/Dx/Digital Health, Innovation & Enterprise, A*STAR.
