Associate Vice President, HR Talent Development

Job Description

This is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced, highly dynamic Human Resources team that is constantly innovating and striving to positively impact the people of Ares. This role on the Talent Development team will expand the team's reach across Asia Pacific and have responsibilities in our India offices. There is a significant opportunity to embed current programming and processes across the region, as well as to design and deliver new initiatives.

The successful candidate should be confident, energetic, creative, and passionate. They should thrive in ambiguous situations and enjoy creating and building new processes and programs. They should be able to lead towards a strategic vision, possess high attention to detail, and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience in building strong relationships with leaders at various levels across multiple locations is essential. They should understand best practices in learning and development and be eager to innovate and create a market-leading function.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities

In this newly created role, the Talent Development Lead will be responsible for helping to build a best-in-class talent strategy and function across Asia. This individual will develop credibility and strong relationships with business leaders and HRBPs, providing consultation on all talent-related activities.

The role requires strategic assessment of needs and designing solutions, as well as tactical execution of content, programs, and large-scale initiatives. Areas of focus include:

  • Talent Advisory: providing talent development advisory support to leaders for their business and region, acting as a talent consultant for HR and business leaders.
  • Learning & Development: supporting employee development through various learning channels, such as on-demand learning and customized training across APAC, with an emphasis on live training in India.
  • Management & Leadership Development: supporting management development programs across Asia and delivering global leadership development programs.
  • Annual Talent Cycle: supporting the Performance Management Process and Talent Reviews within the region.
Requirements
  • 11-14 years of relevant Human Resources experience in a fast-paced environment and in Talent Development.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing talent development strategies in complex, global environments.
  • Advising HRBPs, business leaders, and stakeholders on Talent Development best practices.
  • Hands-on experience in L&D content creation and delivery.
  • Facilitation of training programs.
  • Organizational development skills with a focus on driving long-term progress and change.
  • Project management experience of large-scale global initiatives with ambiguous parameters and diverse stakeholders.
