Job summary

Nomura is seeking an Associate Software Engineer in Singapore to contribute to Python-based applications, data pipelines, and automation tools that empower Nomura’s business functions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Software Engineer in the financial sector with front end development using React or similar frameworks for UI development.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in Python scripting with a minimum of 2 years in production environments.
• Experience with data manipulation, strong expertise in Pandas for data transformation, cleaning, and analysis.
• Working knowledge of Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience with libraries like Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly to create clear visualizations.
• SQL proficiency in database querying and data extraction (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Testing & Documentation: experience with unit testing frameworks (pytest, unittest) and writing maintainable code documentation.
• Data Processing: experience with data extraction, cleaning, ETL pipelines, and data quality management.
• HTML Email Generation: experience converting Pandas DataFrames to HTML format and sending formatted email reports.

Role Description

As anAssociate Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development and maintenance ofPython-based applications, data pipelines, and automation toolsthat empower Nomura’s business functions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will:

Responsibilities

Technical Development

• Develop, test, and maintainPython-based applicationsanddata processing pipelinesfor financial data workflows.
