Job summary

Temasek, a global investment company headquartered in Singapore, seeks a stakeholder engagement professional to deepen and manage Temasek’s institutional relations, including coordinating meetings, publications distribution, and stakeholder platforms.

The successful candidate will analyse geopolitical and economic developments, build a network of partners, and coordinate multi-team activities across Temasek’s IR and Public Affairs functions. Based in Singapore.

  • Provide administrative support for stakeholder engagement platforms and events.
  • Coordinate distribution of Temasek Review publications and maintain stakeholder databases.
  • Collaborate with Institutional Relations and Public Affairs teams to support engagement activities.

Introduction

Global issues such as resource scarcity, demographic shifts, rising populism, nationalism and protectionism, great and regional power conflicts and climate change will redefine societal expectations, public policies and regulatory frameworks. These will impact Temasek’s ability to operate effectively as an active investor and shareholder, a forward-looking institution and a trusted steward; and also shape the way we project ourselves to our stakeholders.

In support of our objective to build and enhance our institutional relations across Asia & globally, the successful appointee will join the team based in Singapore in deepening and enhancing Temasek’s stakeholder building efforts, including managing and evolving engagement platforms.In addition, the candidate will be responsible for analysing and providing assessment of global/local strategic issues, including geopolitical and economic developments, as well as building up Temasek’s network of partners so as to expand Temasek’s investable space.

The candidate is also expected to plan, organise and manage Temasek’s stakeholder engagement platforms, in support of our objective to build and enhance our institutional relationships globally. Through the course of work, the candidate will need to work effectively with colleagues from other teams across Temasek and our wider ecosystem. The prospective candidate should possess a deep interest in a wide range of issues and the interplay between business with politics, technology, sustainability and trade.

Responsibilities
  • Track and monitor strategic issues in priority markets that may affect Temasek’s investment space, including relevant geopolitical, economic and policy developments.
  • Plan and support delegation visits by foreign government and corporate stakeholders, including registration, access arrangements, meeting logistics, room set-up and coordination with internal support teams.
  • Prepare and coordinate meeting materials, including briefs, presentations, background notes, name tents, post-meeting notes and summaries.
  • Provide administrative and event support for key stakeholder engagement platforms, including preparation of invitation letters and communication materials, distribution of invitations, response tracking, stakeholder lists and related event processes.
  • Coordinate the distribution of Temasek Review publications to key stakeholders, managing recipient lists and working with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of physical and electronic copies.
  • Maintain and update stakeholder databases, the IR Meeting Tracker and other team reporting tools to ensure records are accurate, current and aligned across teams.
  • Work closely with colleagues across Institutional Relations, Public Affairs and other internal teams to support smooth execution of stakeholder engagement activities and events.
  • Provide broader administrative and coordination support for the Institutional Relations team, including team meeting schedules, calendars, logistics and other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Degree in International Relations, Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Business, Communications or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in international relations, government relations, public policy, stakeholder engagement or corporate affairs, with exposure to protocol management.
  • Strong analytical, presentation (written and oral) and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills – generate buy-in and results
  • Able to multi-task, good team player and meticulous at work
  • Ability to learn and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
