Job description

The Division of Medical Oncology (DMO) Lung Research Team is seeking to employ a research coordinator to assist with recruitment and follow-up, data collection, and biological specimen collection and processing.

This role will be involved in lung cancer studies, including a multi-site lung cancer screening study that looks into screening modalities including blood based and imaging tests, and working with a team of research coordinators.

Potential candidates should be interested in the important public health challenge of reducing lung cancer mortality.

Responsibilities:

  • Patient recruitment and obtaining informed consent
  • Administration of questionnaires
  • Follow-up with participants via email, phone, videoconferencing and/or notification letters
  • Collection of clinical data, keep records of documentations, data entry, management of database, data cleaning and curation
  • Collection and processing^ of biological specimens
  • Any other duties required and assigned by supervisor


Requirements:

  • Diploma OR Degree in Nursing, Health Sciences or any relevant fields with experience in research or healthcare setting
  • Ability to perform phlebotomy confidently preferred
  • Computer literate, proficient in MS Office
  • Able to work independently and willing to be a committed team player
  • Meticulous with good organizational and time management skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong interest in clinical and translational research and motivated to learn


^Laboratory training will be provided if candidate possesses a science, laboratory-based and/or relevant qualification.
