As an Associate Psychologist (Research) you gain valuable experience and skills, such as:

  • Ability to conceptualise, plan and execute quantitative and qualitative research projects with a specialised population within the social service sector
  • Ability to develop expertise in digital technologies and blend it with clinical practice
  • Opportunities to set-up and manage datasets of differing levels of complexities (e.g., basic client-centric or variable-centric data, hierarchical data, time series data, etc)
  • Opportunities to interact with clients and develop client engagement skills
  • Development of skills in data processing and analysis via data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, R, SPSS, etc)
  • Ability to effectively communicate/disseminate research findings to stakeholders (e.g., data visualisation and/or presentation skills)
  • Ability to steer research projects independently in a collaborative environment

Research Work:

Under the supervision of experienced and prolific research psychologists in this field, the Associate Psychologist (Research) will play a vital role in supporting our research projects in:

  • Contributing to the development and implementation of research projects
  • Conducting data analysis to address queries from stakeholders
  • Conducting literature reviews
  • Assisting with focus groups
  • Data entry and transcribing audio/video recordings
  • Setting up of databases and/or data visualisation dashboards
  • Monitoring research data collection progress
  • Verification of the completeness and quality of collected data and ensuring data security
  • Assisting in documentation of work processes
  • Drafting of reports/presentations for research project updates
  • Conducting presentations on research project to stakeholders

Capability Building Work:

  • Support the development of e-learning modules and other training materials
  • Designing of infoposters, presentations, and other dissemination materials for corporate functions and capability building

Requirements:

  • Keen interest in working in social service sector
  • University degree with second class or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
  • Good understanding of intermediate-level statistical analyses (incld. taken university modules on data cleaning, analytics etc)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Highly organised and able to work independently to manage multiple timelines, deadlines and demands that will overlap
