Job summary

Balyasny Asset Management seeks an Associate, Middle Office for Asia Listed & Quant to join the Operations team in our Hong Kong / Singapore office. You will assist traders and PMs with PnL questions and trade-related inquiries, coordinating with Compliance, Tech, Back Office, and Portfolio Finance on requirements.

The role focuses on trade matching, reconciliations, settlements, and risk mitigation across the Asia-listed desks, with collaboration across global MBO teams to drive process

Responsibilities

• PM Focus - primary contact for a set of portfolio managers on PnL and trading activity inquiries.
• Trade Lifecycle Management - from trade matching to settlements and breaks resolution.
• Cross Department Collaboration - coordinate with Compliance, Product Management, Back Office and Trading Desk on system/process implementations.
• Futures & Option Expiration - coordinate weekly/monthly activity with trading desk and prime brokers.
• Global Middle/Back Office Team - contribute to identifying gaps and driving improvements across regions.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Balyasny Asset Management is seeking an Associate, Middle Office - Asia Listed & Quant team members to join the Operations team in our Hong Kong / Singapore office.The employee will assist traders and portfolio managers with a wide variety of trade related and portfolio PnL questions. In addition to working closely with various departments such as compliance, technology, back office, and portfolio finance on requirements, gathering information, testing and implementation of firm initiatives.

In the role of Associate, Middle Office - Asia Listed & Quant Operations team the employee will be responsible for the following:

• PM Focus - primary point of contact for a set of portfolio managers on various inquiries related to PnL, trading activity, corporate actions, etc.
• Trade Lifecycle Management : From trade matching, position reconciliations, trade settlements and breaks resolution, team is responsible for ensuring trades are matched and settled in timely manner
• Cross Department Collaboration - work with members of various other BAM teams such as Compliance, Product Management, Back Office and Trading Desk on system and process implementation to mitigate firm risk
• Futures & Option Expiration - work with trading desk on a weekly/monthly basis to confirm any special futures & option activity and communicate this to prime brokers and Arcesium
• Global Middle/Back Office Team - as part of global MBO team, work together to identify and resolve gaps in process to minimize firm risk, streamline processes and build efficiencies

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Technical, business, or relevant finance degree
• Knowledge in Asia markets rules and regulations
• 1-3 years of relevant work experience in an investment bank, Fund Admin, Asset Manager, or Hedge fund
• Working knowledge of equities, swaps, equity options and futures (India and China QFII would be a plus)
• Ability to effectively communicate with senior managers and members of other teams
• Good project management skills and ability to multi-task
