Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. in Singapore (Tuas) is seeking an Associate Manager, Engineering – Validation to lead the validation of facility, equipment, and utilities, ensuring the site Validation lifecycle complies with regulatory requirements.

You will supervise day-to-day validation activities, collaborate across departments, and participate in inspections and audits to uphold high quality and safety standards in medicines manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or Life Science or related discipline, or work experience in pharmaceutical validation.
• Leadership/managerial experience for direct reports.
• Knowledge of cGMP industry practices and requirements.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage day-to-day Validation activities per approved SOPs, plans and policies.
• Review and approve Validation SOPs and Plans to support the Validation Master Plan.
• Manage internal and external validation resources to meet department goals.
• Coordinate with system owners, quality unit and other departments to align scope, execution and reporting of Validation Program.
• Plan and conduct on-job training for staff and identify training gaps.

Job description

The Associate Manager, Engineering – Validation, will manage the validation of facility, equipment utility. Responsible for ensuring the site Validation lifecycle program is compliant to regulatory requirements. Responsible for providing leadership and oversight to all routine operational and administrative activities. This is a fully site‑based role at Singapore Tuas. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

What you'll do:

• Supervise/Manage day-to-day Validation activities in accordance with approved Validation SOPs / Plan / Policies.
• Participate in the review and approve of Validation SOPs / Plans to facilitate the implementation of the Validation Strategy defined by the Validation Master Plan.
• Manage internal and external validation resources deployment to achieve department / project goals
• Liaise with system owner, quality unit and relevant departments including clients to ensure scope, execution and reporting of Validation Program meets their expectations
• Plan & manage on-job training program for staff.
• Perform regular review of department training requirements; identify gaps & improvements.
• Participate as required in regulatory inspections and client audits and responding to validation related issues.
• Plan, schedule, and manage, the validation efforts for large scale change implementation project in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
• Provide oversight for validation deviation investigation to resolve execution or result discrepancies and participate in the resolution of deviations and corrective/preventive actions.
