Job summary

The Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) is seeking associates to teach a business analytics course. The program covers descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics concepts and tools, with instruction geared toward decision-making and organisational performance.

Selected associates will deliver a 3-hour weekly lecture over 9 weeks, with classes scheduled on weekdays, Saturdays, or weekday evenings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or professional qualification required.
• 5 years of relevant work experience will be an added advantage.
• At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience at the tertiary level would be a plus.
• Be available to conduct a weekly 3-hour lecture for 9 weeks.
• Be available to teach classes during weekdays or Saturday between 8:30 AM and 6:30 PM and/or weekday evenings 7:00 PM–10:00 PM.
• Able to manage sizeable class, grade assessments and provide constructive feedback within timelines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver weekly 3-hour lectures for 9 weeks.
• Teach classes during the specified times (weekday/Saturday or evenings).
• Grade assessments and provide timely feedback to students.
• Work closely with the course coordinator at the partner university.

Business analytics have been increasing used in organisations to inform responsive, evidence based decision-making for improving business performance. Modern organisations that fully leverage business analytics are able to reveal business value from the data and gain competitive advantages over rivals. This course introduces students the concepts, fundamentals and tools of business analytics. Students will learn to critically examine how business data can be used to drive decision making and actions through the application of business analytics techniques and tools required for descriptive analytics, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics. Students will also evaluate and apply techniques and tools required for business analytics to inform decision-making within organisations.

Job Requirements

• Possess a Master’s Degree or professional qualification in the relevant discipline.
• 5 years of relevant work experience will be an added advantage.
• At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience at the tertiary level would be a plus.

• Must be available to conduct a weekly 3-hour lecture for a period of 9 weeks.
• Must be available to teach classes during the weekday or Saturday between 8.30AM and 6.30PM and/or weekday evenings from 7pm - 10pm.
• Must be able to handle sizeable class, grade assessments and provide constructive feedback to students within a given timeline.
