Job summary

Nomura Holdings, Inc. is seeking an Associate, Full Stack Data Engineer in Singapore to design scalable data architectures, pipelines, and AI/ML platform solutions. You will work on enterprise-grade data and analytics initiatives aligned with business objectives and timelines.

The role requires 5+ years in data engineering/MLOps in finance, hands-on Python/Java scripting, and experience with cloud platforms (EC2, EMR, Snowflake). Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Masters in quantitative fields (Computer Science, Statistics or similar).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in data engineering / MLOps, full stack engineering in the financial sector.
  • Experience in data management principles including data quality, metadata, data lineage, master data management and governance.
  • Deployment experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, Ansible, DevOps processes, enterprise integration patterns.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, Unix scripting and orchestration tools like Airflow or Autosys.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as EC2, EMR, Snowflake or similar, plus hybrid data architecture.
  • Proficiency in React with UI development experience is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience building ETL processes and data models for quality, integrity and accessibility.
  • Experience in microservices development, scalable and fault-tolerant APIs.
  • Ability to collaborate across cross-cultural, cross-border teams and adapt to changing priorities.

Department Overview

The Chief Data Office plays a key role in defining and implementing the firm's data, cloud and AI strategy, driving change through these capabilities, enforcing data, cloud and AI governance for the firm, and elevating Nomura's data culture. Governance remains a critical focus area, and the Chief Data Office, in partnership with Business and Corporate functions, is responsible for ensuring that the firm's data assets are managed in line with the firm's data management framework, policy and standards.

Role Description

The Full Stack Data Engineer will be required to develop scalable, secure, and high-quality data engineering, AI/ML Ops, and data platform solutions aligned with business objectives and timelines. Design maintainable data architectures, pipelines, and technical solutions adhering to enterprise standards.

Responsibilities

  • Solution Delivery: Design scalable, secure and maintainable data architectures, pipelines, and technical solutions aligned with enterprise standards and business requirements.
  • Solution Design: Drive the operationalize of AI/ML solutions while implementation best practices for data quality, governance, metadata, lineage and platform reliability.
  • AL/ML Ops & Data Management: Drive the operationalize of AI/ML solutions while implementation best practices for data quality, governance, metadata, lineage and platform reliability.
  • Trusted Partner: Shapethe information & analytics agenda at Nomura and work with all of Nomura’s businesses in laying out their information & analytics adoption roadmaps.
  • Risk Mindset: Familiar with risk and controls frameworks and ability to operate with a control mindset

Requirements

  • Masters in quantitative fields (Computer Science, Statistics or similar)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of relevant data experience in data engineering / MLOps, full stack engineering in the financial sector.
  • Experience in data management principles including, but not limited to data quality, metadata management, data lineage, master data management, and data governance.
  • Deployment experience: Hands on experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, Ansible, DevOps process, Enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience in programming languages (Python, Java, Unix scripting etc.) and with orchestration tools like Airflow or Autosys
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as EC2, EMR, Snowflake or similar tools with ability to drive design and data model discussions, hybrid data architecture.
  • Proficiency in React with hands-on experience in UI development a plus.
  • Hands-on with programming languages (Python, Java, Unix scripting etc.) and with orchestration tools like Airflow or Autosys
  • Building physical data models and ETL processes to ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility.
  • Microservices Development: Building and maintaining highly scalable and fault tolerant microservice, including efficient server-side APIs.
  • Ability to understand and integrate cultural differences and work effectively with virtual cross-cultural, cross-border teams
  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.
  • Experience with senior stakeholder management will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, listening), presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to analyze complex situations and derive workable actions.
