Associate Engineer (Operations/2 years contract)
Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support the implementation, maintenance, and smooth operation of network infrastructure. Coordinate work with field engineers, ensure that projects are completed on time, and handle any technical issues that arise during the process. Responsible for ensuring that service issues (fault tickets) are addressed promptly according to the agreed service levels (SLA).
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of fibre networks, ductlines, and manholes.
  • Schedule and coordinate work with field engineers to ensure tasks are completed on time and meet technical requirements.
  • Assign trouble tickets and urgent tasks to field engineers and monitor their progress.
  • Communicate with local authorities to obtain necessary permits for fibre rollouts, surveys, and repairs.
  • Assist field engineers and contractors by providing solutions to issues encountered on-site.
  • Track the status of all projects and ensure work orders are completed within the deadlines.
  • Escalate any unresolved issues to the appropriate teams for quick resolution.
  • Ensure that all necessary documents and data are submitted accurately and on time.
  • Review contractors claims for work completed and ensure they align with the contract terms.
  • Provide regular updates on project status and issues to management.
  • Be on a rotational standby to support after-office troubleshooting when needed.
  • Offer administrative and technical support to the team and management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Nitec/Diploma in Engineering (preferably Electronic, Civil, or Telecommunications) or relatedfields.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other commonly used software tools.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive team player with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Knowledge of fibre optic infrastructure and telecommunication network construction is a plus.
