Job summary

A leading company in Singapore seeks a Civil Engineering technician to oversee on-site tests for construction projects. The successful candidate will develop testing procedures, ensure compliance with safety standards, and coordinate with various stakeholders to deliver projects successfully.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of relevant working experience in construction, soil investigation or testing.
• Class 3 or higher driver license required.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and 17025 standards is advantageous.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform the on-site destructive and non destructive tests for construction/civil projects
• Develop new and customized procedures, as well as prepare reports
• Design and set-up text fixtures for customized test procedures
• Review SOP, risk assessments and ensure compliance to safety and quality standards
• Collaborate with vendors and other departments to resolve engineering issues or testing requirements
• Coordinate with clients, suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure smooth execution of projects
• Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of various equipment
• Conduct site inspection with other engineers

Key Requirements

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field with at least 2 years of relevant working experience, preferably in construction, soil investigation, instrumentation or testing industries will be advantageous.
• Class 3 or higher driver license
• Familiarity to ISO 9001 and 17025 standards would be an added advantage
• Result and service-oriented individual who possesses initiative and good communication skills
• A proactive team player but with the ability to work independently in challenging projects and timeline
• Enthusiastic and resourceful with a “can-do” attitude
