Job description
Overview

Element has an opportunity for an Associate Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. In this role, you will perform a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision.

This role is based in Sungei Kadut Loop, Singapore.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and engineering leadership, support the development of new technologies within a local laboratory, and be accountable for accurate and timely release of testing data to customers including sign-offs of quality control data as acceptable.
  • Obtain guidance in non-routine situation testing and oversee standard and/or routine technical problem solving activities.
  • Interact with customers on technical issues and questions and provide input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers.
  • Make formal and informal presentations on conventional and/or routine testing to a wide range of stakeholders and assist in the professional development of novice technicians and engineers within the local laboratory; carry out crucial examination and implementation of testing concepts and data.
  • Utilize an assortment of skills, methods, procedures and materials in advanced testing analysis and draw on internal knowledge as well as industry and/or academic resources in reaching testing conclusions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ pertinent post-degree engineering experience, or advanced academic/professional qualifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply academic knowledge within the context of Element’s business and working knowledge of laboratory safety.
  • In-depth understanding of testing concepts.
  • Ability to analyze and compile testing data from the tests performed.
  • Strong computer skills.
