Job summary

A leading clinical research organization in Singapore is seeking an experienced Alliance Manager to support the General Manager in coordinating partnerships in South Asia. This role involves ensuring effective collaboration with commercialization partners, achieving performance targets, and managing governance meetings. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, preferably with an MBA, and at least 5 years of sales management experience. Excellent communication and analytical skills are essential.

Job description

This role is created to partner with and support the General Manager in coordinating countries in South Asia applying the alliance model (Distribution and Promotion), while having currently 4 partners in place. In this role, the Alliance Manager will have the current purpose: - Need to know and understand local countries market dynamics and local performance - Need to collaborate very well with the partner but also hold the partner accountable to achieve the defined KPIs.

  • Assist the partner to achieve performance targets aligned with company values and legal requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring that there is effective collaboration between Lilly and its’ external commercialization partners.

It is the role of the incumbent to:

  • Enable all commercial partnerships to achieve business objectives by the partner.
  • Lead the preparation and running of the governance meetings for Lilly and partners
  • Ensure the respective functions of Lilly/partner co-ordinate effectively.
  • Play the role of Lilly local point of contact in the communications between Lilly/partner
  • Accountable for the timely and accurate reporting of the monthly performance score cards.

The alliance manager is accountable for the successful execution of these commercial partnerships, expecting that South Asia General Manager & South Asia Alliance Finance Managers fulfil their governance and leadership responsibilities as/when issues are escalated in accordance with the contracts. Key Stakeholders

  • External: Key members of the Lilly partner.

Thought Leaders in key countries so we can understand country performance

  • Internal: GM, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, Medical, Legal, Regulatory & Quality, Eli Lilly Export Commercial Governance Leader.
Key Responsibilities: Alliance Management:
  • Governance: Engage the different stakeholders of the partnership in setting and delivering business objectives.

Provide support to the partner as requested on business issues related to sales, marketing, compliance, legal and regulatory. Conduct operational cross functional calls, functional reviews &/or deep dives when needed. Oversee the effectiveness of the alliance against the contractually agreed key performance indicators. Escalate issues when and where needed through the right channels. Keep key stakeholders updated on execution

  • Collaboration: Work with key business process owners (Business Unit heads, Medical, Marketing, Finance, Compliance, legal, etc.) of both partners to fulfil contractual obligations and ensure proper functioning of alliance.
  • Planning & Forecast: Co-lead the Forecasting of the Annual Purchase Targets & Minimum Purchase Requirements of the Alliance Partner(s) in partnership with the Finance Manager.

New SKU introduction in collaboration with marketing, regulatory and other concerned departments. Always keep an eye on knowing the market and thus being able to negotiate and agree APT with the partner for the following year.

Support partner on pre-launch preparation if the partner requests this. Partner with Lilly Alliance marketing and medical team on sharing what worked in other countries and then the partner can decide their local strategies.

  • Performance: Deliver on Lilly’s contractual obligations.

Monitor and report service level, complaints as per agreed timeline.

  • Local market understanding: Ensure having the right external connections in the market to better understand the market dynamics, risks and opportunities and any updates on local regulations to have the right external analysis to be able to assess performance and recommend the brand potentials.
  • Champion compliance discipline be a subject-matter expert in Alliance playbook, attend and conduct the right trainings timely, read thoroughly contracts terms and conditions of all partners.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s Degree in health topics (MBA is a plus)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales management.

Marketing, Business development &/or Finance experience are preferred.

  • Sound analytical skills and strong in planning and organization
  • Good marketing capabilities, strategic thinking & medical knowledge (specially in Diabetes, Oncology & Immunology)
