Job summary

Singtel is seeking an engineering leader to drive multiple teams and shape the platform strategy. You will guide architecture, implement secure and scalable enterprise services, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-enabled solutions.

You bring deep enterprise software, Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes and Kafka expertise, with a track record of mentoring leaders, delivering on time, and advancing CI/CD and observability across distributed environments.

Qualifications

• Significant software engineering and technical leadership experience in enterprise environments.
• Proven ability to lead multiple engineering teams or large-scale platform initiatives.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and Kafka.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and private cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of AI platform workloads and production-grade software practices.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on mentoring.
• Experience with security, observability, resilience, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop multiple engineering teams through their team leads, providing technical guidance and performance oversight.
• Define and drive engineering strategy, platform architecture aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee design, development, deployment, and support of enterprise platform services using Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Kafka, and modern web technologies.
• Ensure platform solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, and operable in distributed environments.
• Establish and improve software engineering practices, including CI/CD, release management, incident management, and ops excellence.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Security, DevOps, and Operations to deliver platform capabilities.
• Review designs to ensure architectural consistency and quality.
• Monitor delivery progress, manage risks, ensure on-time delivery.
• Support production operations to improve stability and performance.
• Mentor engineering leaders and build technical capability across the org.

• Define and drive the engineering strategy, technical direction, and platform architecture aligned with business objectives.

Skills to Succeed

• Significant experience in software engineering and technical leadership within enterprise environments.
• Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams or large-scale platform engineering initiatives.
• Strong technical expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and Kafka.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and private cloud platforms.
• Good understanding of AI platform workloads and enterprise platform engineering.
• Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle, DevOps practices, release management, and production support.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with practical technical oversight and mentoring.
• Experience supporting AI platforms or data-intensive enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with enterprise security, observability, resilience, and compliance practices.
• Experience working in matrix organisations with multiple stakeholders.
