Job Description
The NUS IT Governance and Strategic Planning (GSP) team shapes the University's technological future by developing strategic IT policies, ensuring secure and compliant operations, and driving impactful IT projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to GSP's mission, supporting the realisation of NUS IT's vision of a "Borderless University powered by Infinite Technology".
Duties and Responsibilities
Policies (Primary):
- Together with subject matter experts: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance and security.
- Conduct regular policy reviews and updates to reflect evolving requirements and best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on policy interpretation and application.
Audit Management (Secondary):
- Coordinate and track IT audits.
- Work with stakeholders to develop comprehensive audit responses and manage communication.
- Provide advice on audit recommendations and corrective actions.
Other responsibilities could include tech risk management and development of new frameworks.
Qualifications
An ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical knowledge and business acumen. Here's a breakdown of the key requirements:
- Degree in Business, Information Technology or equivalent.
- Minimally 15 years of working experience, of which 10 years in managing IT Governance operations.
- Strong foundation in IT Policies and Audit Management.
- Ability to effectively align IT initiatives with the organisation's overall business goals.
- Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to establish and maintain constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent team player, meticulous and resilient.
- Able to work independently and manage work well to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with an excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
- Possess good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint or data analytics tools e.g. Power BI for statistics reporting.
- Certifications in IT governance frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ITIL) are desirable.
