Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

Operate within the laws, rules and regulations of Indonesia and SEA region to build, manage, maintain and strengthen relationships with Indonesia and SEA region Clients. Provide information to prospects and customers regarding the requirements and procedures in conducting relationships with FAB Group entities with the appropriate banking licenses to conduct banking activities. Carry out promotional activities to introduce FAB to prospects in Indonesia and SEA region.

To build, manage, maintain and strengthen the business relationships with corporate clients and commodities clients based in Indonesia and SEA region through understanding the clients requirements and proposing suitable solutions/ products and services to clients and through close collaboration with other teams such as Products and Credit partners, Treasury, etc.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Business Development

  • In conjunction with CEO – Singapore (overseeing SEA portfolio) work closely to formulate and implement FAB’s strategic plan for Indonesia, bearing in mind the laws, rules and regulations of Indonesia and SEA region.
  • Help in the identification of potential client relationships
  • Help interactions with clients and strengthen our relationships with Indonesian & SEA companies
  • Ensure that the Bank is in possession of all required facility documents duly executed by the client.
  • Initiate KYC process and review the Account on a periodic basis in supporting their business offshore.
  • Initiate prospects and assess opportunities for an assigned portfolio of corporate (but not limited to) relationship and new clients. (for offshore business only)
  • Work closely with Representative Offices, Branches and Head Office to generate business leads for offshore business.

Internal Collaboration

  • Develop a close working relationship with all departments/ sub-departments including Product partners (Debt Capital Markets, Global Transaction Services, Islamic Banking, Corporate Finance, Private Banking and Treasury & Global Markets) and Credit in order to contribute to overall business development within the SEA Region.

Client and Market Analysis

  • Conduct analysis on clients’ financial health and needs as well as their industries/ markets on regular basis

Credit Process

  • Collect credit request and documents from the clients for our offshore business. Conduct analysis on clients’ financial health and needs as well as their industries/ markets on regular basis

Credit Approval

  • Collect credit request and documents from the clients and conduct initial analysis, acquiring and evaluating new accounts, structuring credit facilities, performing credit assessment of financial statements, cash flow projections, periodic credit reviews of the existing accounts and loan documentations.
  • Prepare credit memoranda and other information relevant for the credit application package of new credit applications, annual reviews and ad-hoc applications.
  • Ensure the quality of the credit portfolio is maintained by reviewing proposals and identifying and assessing all risks inherent in credit exposures.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international leading practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

MIS and Reports

  • Prepare reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet the department’s and FAB’s requirements, policies and standards.
  • Conduct site visits, where necessary and followed with Call reports.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Commerce or relevant disciplines.
  • At least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in wholesale / investment banking and client relationship management with multinational banks, preferably with deep Indonesia contacts with GCCE business exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate/ wholesale banking product, trade transaction flow, trade structures and transactional risk related to e.g. commodity finance, structured finance

Skills:

  • Excellent understanding of the Indonesia/SEA and GCCE markets.
  • Strong market contacts within the local Indonesia community & Sponsor level contact with State Owned Enterprise (SOEs) and Indonesian Privately Owned Enterprise (POEs)
  • Strong track record of success in identifying, structuring and delivering financing solutions to a diverse client base.
  • Strong marketing, client relationship management and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal business units.
  • Awareness of market trends, pricing information and underwriting appetite.
  • Experience in the entire credit process from deal acquisition up to conclusion (including documentation).
  • Strong in Credit Risk and Financial Risk analysis with modelling skills (preferably)
  • Strong work ethics and a passion for excellence to push boundary – The ability to perform under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborative as a team player and highly adaptable to the changing needs of internal and external customers.
