Job summary

Sofina, a global investment company, is hiring an Associate Data Engineer in Singapore. You will build data stacks, develop AI-enabled workflows, and create internal applications to support sourcing, evaluating, and managing investments.

The role spans data engineering, back-end, and practical front-end development. You will design pipelines, transform unstructured content into structured data, and enable secure, scalable knowledge access for investment research.

Qualifications

• One year or more of relevant working experience in data engineering and/or software engineering.
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline.
• Hands-on experience building data-intensive applications, including ELT pipelines and workflows that process both structured and unstructured data.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, dbt and Dagster, with experience developing on modern data warehouses such as Snowflake, Fabric, or similar technologies/tools.
• Product-oriented and focused on building useful, reliable tools adopted by users.
• Strong collaboration, clear communication, and receptiveness to feedback.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making sound technical trade-offs from concept to delivery.
• Strong written and spoken English skills; interest in investment, technology, and applied AI.
• Actively incorporating AI tools and LLMs into workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines for real-time and batch ingestion of venture, PE, and fund-of-funds data.
• Transform raw and unstructured content into structured representations optimized for search, retrieval, and LLM-powered analysis.
• Collaborate with teams to expose enterprise knowledge to LLMs, agents, and web-apps for efficient workflows.
• Rapidly prototype data and AI products, gather user feedback, and turn prototypes into production-grade tools.
• Own end-to-end quality ensuring accuracy, freshness, reliability, and performance for business users.
• Collaborate with the data engineering team and provide support as needed.

What you will do:

As an Associate Data Engineer, you will be working as part of the IT team and partnering closely with colleagues throughout the organization to drive the development of data products. You will design data stacks, build AI-enabled workflows, and develop the internal applications that support the sourcing, evaluation, and management of our investments. This is a highly hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving real business problems through technology and is comfortable working across data engineering, back-end development, and practical front-end development.

Your responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain robust end-to-end data pipelines supporting real-time and batch ingestion of venture, private equity, and fund-of-funds data.
• Transform raw, unstructured enterprise content into rich, structured, permission-aware representations optimized for search, retrieval and LLM-powered analysis helping to automate and enhance investment research workflows.
• Partner closely with the various teams to define how enterprise knowledge should be exposed to LLMs/agents/web-app to establish an efficient and secure business workflow with agents.
• Rapidly prototype innovative data and AI products, gather user feedback, and turn successful prototypes into reliable production-grade tools.
• Own end-to-end quality of your data products and ensuring accuracy, freshness, reliability and performance for business users.

Who you are:
