What the role is:

Singapore’s push for digitalization coupled with cyber threats that are ever evolving in scale and sophistication paved the way for a continuously growing demand for cybersecurity professionals. As a result, there exists a need to strengthen the pipeline of skilled cybersecurity professionals through identifying and empowering individuals with cybersecurity aptitude and good learning attitude to take on cybersecurity roles.CSA’s Cybersecurity Development Programme (CSDP) is a 12-month programme designed to develop both fresh graduates and working professionals into cybersecurity talents in the public sector, with the aim of building cybersecurity capabilities to secure Singapore’s digital economy and infrastructure.

What you will be working on:

CSDP is a 12-month programme that consists of two phases: a 1-month classroom training phase, followed by an 11-month job posting.Please note that the programme curriculum may be subject to change (including programme duration/training curriculum, etc). The programme stated below is accurate as of August 2026.Phase 1: Classroom TrainingCSDP officers will undergo a rigorous curriculum in their first month to build both technical and professional capabilities. Officers will undergo courses that will lead to cybersecurity certifications such as:

• SANS SEC504
• SANS IC310
• Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate

Officers will also receive training in professional skills such as Stakeholder Management and Effective Writing in the Public Service.

Phase 2: Job PostingAfter the classroom training phase, CSDP officers will be posted to a CSA division or partner government agency for the remaining 11 months. During their posting, officers will gain hands‑on experience in mainly one of these cybersecurity domains:

• Malware Analysis
• Digital Forensics & Incident Response
• Emerging Technologies
• Penetration Testing
• Cybersecurity Solutions and Consultancy
• Cybersecurity Operations Centre
• Threat Intelligence
• Governance, Risk and Compliance

Job postings will take into consideration each candidate’s interests, suitability and cybersecurity manpower needs across the Whole-of-Government (WOG). Further assessments may be required to determine a candidate’s suitability for specific roles, and the final posting decision rests with CSA.Gain Exposure Beyond Your PostingThroughout the programme, CSDP officers will have opportunities to work on cybersecurity projects at the national level, undergo further technical and non-technical training, and engage with recognised industry partners and the public.These experiences will enable officers to broaden their cybersecurity expertise, develop valuable professional networks and contribute towards strengthening Singapore’s cybersecurity posture.Upon successful completion of the 12-month programme, CSDP officers may continue their employment with CSA or be forward deployed to another government agency, subject to satisfactory performance and successful matching to a suitable role across the Whole-of-Government (WOG).CSA is currently located at the Punggol Digital District.

• A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Technology or other STEM-related disciplines.
• A keen interest and demonstrated aptitude in cybersecurity and technology, with a strong willingness to learn and continuously develop new technical capabilities.
• A good foundation in computing and cybersecurity concepts, such as computer networks, operating systems, programming, information security or network architecture.
• An interest in applying technical knowledge to real-world cybersecurity challenges and national-level cybersecurity work.
• Open and adaptable to working across different cybersecurity domains and job roles, based on individual suitability and the cybersecurity needs of the Whole-of-Government.
• A strong interest in public service and contributing to Singapore’s cybersecurity mission.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the curiosity to investigate unfamiliar problems and develop practical solutions.
• Able to communicate ideas clearly and explain technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

While not mandatory, candidates who demonstrate their interest and capabilities in cybersecurity through any of the following will have an advantage:

• Cybersecurity or relevant technical certifications;
