Associate Corporate Counsel , Legal AWS - Sales & Marketing

DESCRIPTION

Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented junior lawyer to support Amazon Web Services (AWS), a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon.com. AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing and service industry providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, browsers and more.

Key job responsibilities
This Associate Corporate Counsel will be based in Singapore and will primarily support AWS's Sales and Marketing teams in ASEAN and the broader Asia-Pacific region.

You will negotiate strategic enterprise agreements with a focus on ASEAN customers and resellers, provide compliance training and awareness, handle pre-litigation disputes and inquiries, assist with responses to bid proposals/tenders, and work proactively on regulatory and policy matters. Typical transactions will range from standard contracts to complex, high-dollar-value strategic procurement vehicles. International travel may be required.

We don't expect you to have experience in data centers or cloud computing, and we are looking for candidates who are eager to learn and develop as part of our team. Members of our team are enthusiastic, curious, proactive, humble, and collaborative, enjoy being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations.

At AWS Legal, we embrace our differences. We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and have initiatives to bring sustained focus to increase DEI. We have employee-led affinity groups, which bring Amazonians together across the company globally. Amazon's culture of inclusion is reinforced within our 16 Leadership Principles.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Law degree from a reputable university or college.
- Admitted to practice law with minimum 3 years of post-admission legal experience.
- Strong transactional background, with solid drafting and negotiation experience.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to summarize complex issues and ideas clearly and concisely.
- Efficient organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines using pragmatic judgment.
- Ability to work independently and proactively, while also collaborating effectively with other legal team members and global business teams.
- Creative analytical skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- In house experience at a technology company or in a private practice technology group.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, cloud computing, AI/ML, or consulting contracts.
- Knowledge of ASEAN laws and regulations and experience working with public policy stakeholders.
- Working knowledge and capability in other ASEAN country languages (e.g. Vietnamese, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, Thai or Tagalog) preferred but not required.
