Job description

Associate Consultants / Consultants / Senior Consultants, Hand Surgery

We are looking for proactive and driven individuals with expertise in the Hand Surgery specialty to join our department and be part of our multidisciplinary team providing day-to-day patient care. You will provide and maintain high quality service and care in your specialty and work in collaboration with other healthcare professionals in the day-to-day treatment of patients.

Your role includes diagnosing and treating a wide range of hand and wrist conditions, and extremity reconstruction. Additional expertise in specific areas of complex hand and reconstructive microsurgery such as the wrist arthroscopy, complex microsurgery, peripheral nerve surgery, or small joint arthroplasty is preferred. Junior consultants keen to be trained in these areas will also be considered.

Your clinical duties will consist of daily ward work, pre-and post-operative care, outpatient clinic and inpatient medical consultation, on-call duties in accordance with operational requirements of hospital.

In addition, you will contribute in areas of Clinical, Education, Research and Administration. These include mentoring junior doctors, participating in scholarly activities, and attending to non-clinical administrative duties.

Requirements

  • Basic medical degree qualifications and a Postgraduate qualification registrable with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC)*
  • Must be in active clinical practice
  • Prior experience in acute hospital setting
  • Ability to work independently with demonstrated competence in managing patients
  • Confident, pro-active and an effective team player
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
