Job Description

KKH is an 830-bed tertiary-level care hospital that provides obstetric, gynaecological, paediatric, and other services. It is part of the SingHealth group of public hospitals. As an academic medical centre, KKH is a teaching hospital for Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

Our department is seeking a dedicated and skilled ENT surgeon to join our dynamic Otolaryngology team. The ideal candidate will have specialised training in paediatric ENT and a strong commitment to providing exceptional care for children with complex ear, nose, and throat conditions. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team at one of Singapore’s leading paediatric institutions, contributing to clinical care and academic excellence.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnosing and treating a wide range of pediatric ENT conditions including congenital airway disorders, congenital hearing loss, chronic ear disease, nasal allergies, and sleep disordered breathing.
  2. Performing surgeries such as tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy, grommet tube insertion, microlaryngobronchoscopy, and other pediatric procedures.
  3. Collaborating with paediatricians, audiologists, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive multidisciplinary care.
  4. Participating in and supervising outpatient clinics, inpatient consults, and on-call duties.
  5. Engaging in continuing medical education activities through tutorials and mentoring residents and medical officers in the department.
  6. Contributing to clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects.

Accountability - each staff will:

  1. Be accountable to his/her clinical head.
  2. Conform to the appropriate standard of medical and clinical service quality within the department.
  3. Facilitate and assist the Head of Department, Division Chairman, and CMB with the department’s perspectives on policy, management, medical teaching, training, and research activities.
  4. Undertake routine functions of the department.

Administrative

To facilitate and assist the Head of Service, Head of Department, Division Chairman, and CMB with the department's development and planning:

Clinical Service Development

  1. Develop and execute work plans.
  2. Optimize the utilisation of resources.
  3. Assist in planning the annual operating budgets within available resources.

Manpower Planning and Performance Management

  1. Be committed to duties, work as a team, and perform to the best of abilities.
  2. Fulfill departmental roles.
  3. Provide continual factual and qualitative information for performance management.
  4. Participate actively as a member or chairperson in hospital or national committees.

Requirements
