Job Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the following:
- Associate Consultants are required to carry out their duties as directed by the Head of Department in accordance with the policies and guidelines set by the Hospital, Alexandra Hospital (AH), and the Ministry of Health (MOH).
- Besides being responsible for patient care, Associate Consultants are expected to provide leadership to all levels of staff, including teaching, training, and research.
- In serious or major clinical situations affecting patient well-being or lives, the Head of Department should be informed and consulted at the earliest opportunity.
- Associate Consultants should demonstrate good technical skills, including operative and procedural skills.
- They should demonstrate their sub-specialty skills and attract referrals in their sub-specialty areas.
- Associate Consultants are required to demonstrate expert knowledge in their area of specialty and expertise in managing complex medical problems and complications.
- They should look to improve standards of clinical practice in their area of specialty and introduce new treatments and procedures.
- Establish the scope of human subject research activities in their area of technical expertise and collaborate with cross-disciplinary clinical or scientific partners where appropriate.
- Ensure their commitment to research ethics and manage any conflicts of interest.
- Be prepared to perform the duties of the next lower grade if necessary.
Requirements
- Education, Training, and Experience: Specialist who has completed basic and advanced specialist training.
- Professional License: Must be registered with the Singapore Medical Council and accredited as a Specialist by the Specialist Accreditation Board, Ministry of Health.
