Job summary

Jurong Port Pte Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a detail-oriented graduate to support vessel scheduling, berth applications, and cargo allocation across our container, bulk, and general cargo operations.

You will maintain vessel records in JP vessel master database, respond to emails, and help ensure accurate data and timely planning. Fresh graduates are welcome; candidates with port, shipping, or logistics exposure have an advantage.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, or related discipline.
• Fresh graduates welcome; relevant port/maritime exposure is a plus.
• Computer literate with ability to learn internal systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic writing skills and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve vessel profile submissions via Modernised JP-Online.
• Process berth applications accurately and update relevant details.
• Assign cargo-client codes, cargo modes, storage, and crane allocations as needed.
• Maintain vessel records and ensure data accuracy in the JP vessel master database.
• Ensure timely conversion of CVRS bookings to berth applications.
• Update the Berth Application and Planning System with any changes.
• Respond promptly to emails to support efficient vessel scheduling, cargo handling, and crane allocation.
• Work with agents and WSH to ensure adherence to MPA's DG limits.
• Review SOPs to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Analyse operational issues and data, develop practical solutions, and support implementation of process improvements.
• Leverage AI, digital tools, and technology to streamline workflows and automate tasks.
• Support development and implementation of new systems and measures to improve productivity.

Jurong Port’s multipurpose port operating expertise includes efficient handling of general, bulk and containerized cargo, management and operations of the Tuas Offshore Marine Centre, and Lighter Terminals in Penjuru and Marina South. Besides Singapore, Jurong Port is involved in overseas joint ventures in China and Indonesia. In 2016, Jurong Port’s local and overseas terminals handled close to 35 million tons of general and bulk cargo, and 560,000 TEUs of container cargo.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review and approve vessel profile submissions via Modernised JP-Online.
• Process berth applications accurately and update relevant details.

• Ensure timely conversion of Cement Vessel Reservation System (CVRS) bookings to berth applications.
• Update the Berth Application and Planning System with any changes.
• Respond promptly to emails to support efficient vessel scheduling, cargo handling, and crane allocation.
• Work with agents and WSH to ensure adherence to MPA's Dangerous Goods (DG) limits.
• Review operational processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Analyse operational issues and data, develop practical solutions, and support the implementation of process improvement initiatives.
• Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital tools, and technology to streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and improve operational efficiency.
• Support the development and implementation of new systems, processes, and operational measures to improve productivity and service delivery.
• Prepare reports, analysis, presentation materials, and recommendations for management and key stakeholders.
• Present findings, project updates, improvement initiatives, and recommendations clearly and effectively to stakeholders and management.
  

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.Candidates with relevant experience in port, maritime, logistics, or terminal operations will have an added advantage.
