Job summary

DBS Bank is seeking an Associate Backend Application Developer for the Data Platform within Group Technology in Singapore. You will design and build robust data pipelines, metadata-driven frameworks, and tools to empower data exploration and dashboards while working with data engineers and product owners.

You will contribute to end-to-end delivery, QA, and continuous improvement of our data-centric enterprise solutions, aligning with AI/ML use cases and enterprise-scale requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of software development in Java.
• Experience with Spring Boot and cloud-native apps.

• Strong SQL and relational database skills.
• Kafka experience is a plus.

Collaborating closely with development team, product owners, data scientist, engineers, business analysts and users. You will be responsible for designing robust, and scalable data pipelines, frameworks and tools that enable users to interact seamlessly with complex data sets, admin dashboards, and other data-related tools and services.This involves leading the end-to-end systems development lifecycle, from initial planning and scoping to analysis and technical implementation, to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business objectives on time and within budget.**Key responsibilities**:1. Design and develop robust, scalable solutions to engineer big-data pipelines for various AI and ML use cases.2. Develop highly available, generic, metadata-driven frameworks, tools and services to solve various business problems related to data exploration, data ingestion, data transformation or data consumption.3. Participate in data-driven product development and work with team to formulate action plans to address issues/challenges/needs from the users/clients.4. Assimilate, validate, and prioritize business requirements.5. Analyse, Design, Define, Develop, Test and Deliver technical solutions, ensuring the quality of implementation.6. Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in interaction design and relevant technologies.**Qualifications:**1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant information technologies.2. Minimum 3 years of experience in software development with Java, Spring Boot, Cloud.3. Hands-on experience in cloud native application development, API development and integration, microservices architectures.4. Good communication skills to articulate thoughts and reasoning behind various ideas or decisions.5. Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI-CD) processes with various deployment/release strategies.6. Strong knowledge of relational databases with hands-on experience in SQL.7. Experience with messaging platform such as Kafka would be added advantage.8.
