Job summary

Standard Chartered in Singapore is seeking a seasoned Full Stack Developer to design and implement microservice-based APIs, craft REST and SOAP interfaces, and collaborate with product owners in an agile environment. You will be hands-on, delivering scalable solutions that align with security and regulatory standards.

You will work with Docker/Kubernetes, ensure end-to-end delivery, and contribute to innovation while maintaining quality.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in microservice API development using the Java and Frontend frameworks.
• Hands-on REST and SOAP API development.
• Experience with API integration across in-house and third-party apps.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Able to drive code through discovery, testing, deployment to production.
• Experience in performance tuning and load testing (e.g., JMeter).
• Banking domain experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

We are seeking talented and motivated individuals for the role of Full Stack Developer. Successful candidates will be experienced programmers who can develop user stories, develop test cases, break down, design, and develop solutions in an environment with constant collaborative discussions. They will be matured individuals who are comfortable working in an agile environment with critical peer reviews of design and code. They must be able to offer constructive critical reviews of other’s designs and code. They must be able to collaboratively work with product owners to develop use stories and test cases. They will be able to research, trial, and recommend new technologies of interest to the group. They will have experience with taking code through testing, deployment, and production and will not have merely handed off code to QA and Production Support.

Our Ideal Candidate

• 6+ years of experience in Micro service API development using the Java and Frontend frameworks. Hands-on experience in AI tools like GHCP.
• Experience on developing REST and SOAP API's
• Strong administration and development skills using API Integration with in house application, third party vendor applications, including Trading Networks;
• Hands on experience in docker based environment – including Kubernetes or OpenShift container platform.
• See changes through to completion – discovery, coding, configuration, testing, documetation, review packaging and production deployment.
• Experience in performance tuning and running PT using j-meter or similar tools
• Ensure adherence and continuous improvement of Agile practices, coaches and teaches new techniques to the Team as needed to achieve optimum productivity.
• Experience working in a banking domain preferred – not mandatory
• Engaging and collaborating with a wide group of technology teams from upstream TP systems, integration, modelling team, data base administrators, messaging teams, architecture
• Knowledge of Postgres or Oracle relational databases is an advantage;
