Job summary

Standard Chartered Singapore is seeking an Engineering Lead to drive delivery of high-quality, scalable banking solutions. As an Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing delivery of high-quality, innovative products and solutions. Your role will involve strategic planning, technical leadership, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and operations, to drive the development of scalable and reliable systems.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

• Align technical solutions with strategic organisational goals and long-term vision.
• Lead and implement detailed technical solutions for complex, organization-wide projects including end-to-end holistic solution design (interfacing systems).
• Develop and drive technology strategy and roadmap in collaboration with the Subdomain Tech Lead.
• Provide high-level analysis for planning, and initiatives implementation approaches.
• Expert in solution sizing, estimation, and project forecasting
• Support audit reviews and exercises.
• Drive RFP and vendor evaluation exercise along with PO to ensure SCB technical standards are met

Business

• Act as a senior escalation point for technical issues.
• Promote engineering craftsmanship and drive strategic business value.
• Collaborate with PO and align technical solutions to support prioritized backlogs to deliver value driven capabilities.
• Oversee technical delivery and excellence across multiple squads or hives.
• Influence prioritization for technology backlog and strategic initiatives.
• Knowledge on Wealth domain and technology would be added advantage. (knowledge on MS Dynamic is preferred).

• Address tech compliance (ESDLC) requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Represent sub domain in relevant architecture forum and drive vendor solutions in accordance with organizational standards.

Our Ideal Candidate

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with proven track record as an Engineering Lead / Solution Lead in large-scale enterprise environments
• Strong understanding of WRB (Wealth & Retail Banking) and Wealth Solution. Understanding of Lifecycle management of OTC products would be an added advantage.
• Proven ability to drive enterprise-level implementations, with strong technical depth and hands-on involvement
• Strong expertise in solutioning & architecture design, translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and compliant technology solutions
• Deep understanding of SDLC and Agile/Lean methodologies, with experience delivering complex initiatives in Agile environments
• Solid experience with API-led architecture, microservices, and integration technologies (MQ, Kafka, Solace)
• Strong technical foundation in J2EE, OOA/OOP principles, and modern engineering practices
• Experience with cloud platforms, containerization (e.g. Kubernetes), and DevOps/SRE practices including CI/CD pipelines
• Strong experience working with relational and NoSQL databases
• AI – trained, with awareness of applying AI concepts within enterprise technology environments
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Relevant certifications in software development, project management, or Agile methodologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, PMP, Certified ScrumMaster)

• Proven experience in managing and delivering complex technical projects in an enterprise environment.
• Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality and timely delivery.
