Job summary

GIC Private Limited, a leading global long-term investor, is hiring an AVP/VP, Investment Risk in its Risk and Performance Management Department. You will identify, measure and monitor investment risks, assess risk-reward of large deals, and present analyses to key stakeholders in a global portfolio.

The role requires at least five years in an analytical or investment-related field, a quantitative degree, strong communication, and a collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an analytical or investment related role.
• BSc or MSc in Economics, Finance, Financial Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting or a quantitatively inclined field.
• Strong analytical background and genuine interest in problem solving; broad interest in financial markets and investments.
• Persuasive communicator with the ability to clearly articulate ideas, market views and technical topics.
• Good team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Desire to constantly learn and upgrade knowledge base and skillset.

Responsibilities

• Identify, measure and monitor risks and ensure concentration across dimensions is properly managed.
• Understand the linkages between performance, risk and exposures and their application to the GIC portfolio and asset class.
• Gain an appreciation of risk methodologies and risk management policies and their application to the portfolio and asset class.
• Keep abreast of market developments and assess potential impact to investments.
• Independently assess risk-reward of large deals using qualitative and quantitative measures.
• Present analysis and communicate assessment of strategy risk-reward to key stakeholders.

We work collaboratively across teams to help guard against blind spots and ensure that all relevant risks are considered and duly addressed.

You will be part of a team that provides an independent and objective assessment of investment risk and performance drivers of GIC’s active strategies.

What will you do as an AVP/VP, Investment Risk?
