Bank of America is seeking to expand and diversify the Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) capability with adaptable and resilient individuals from a range of different backgrounds and experience.

This role is open to individuals with up to/between 3 to 5 years of Digital Forensics experience.

Required Background and Experience:
  • Identify, analyze, and present evidential data from workstation-oriented systems, including but not limited to systems installed with Microsoft Windows;
  • Experience in investigating specific facets or workstreams of various incident scenarios/investigations as part of a broader DFIR/investigative team;
  • Accumulated some form of generalist or broad knowledge in computing and networking, with a generalist understanding of information security technologies, techniques, and processes;
  • The ability to participate unsupervised on incidents/investigations from start to finish.
Knowledge in one or more of the following Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) backgrounds is advantageous, though not required:
  • Knowledge of operating system artifacts, file systems, and inner workings of Microsoft Windows, Apple MacOS, Linux/Unix distributions (especially RedHat);
  • Cloud and/or containerization technologies (e.g., Docker and Kubernetes) within an enterprise environment.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cyber/Digital Forensics;
  • Digital Forensics and Incident Response Certification (e.g., EnCE, GCFA);
  • Cloud-related certification (e.g., CompTIA Cloud+ or certifications in Microsoft Azure or AWS);
  • Linux Certification such as RHCSA;
  • Scripting experience in Windows or Linux environments.

As a member of the Cyber Threat Defence (CTD) team, especially within Digital Forensics, you can expect:

  • Utilizing your DFIR skills to participate in incidents or investigations;
  • Discovering unfamiliar technology or data during incidents and assessing its relevance;
  • Communicating clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Embracing new technologies and assessing their application;
  • Collaborating with a global team across the USA, Europe, and Asia-Pacific;
  • Participating in an on-call schedule to share responsibilities.
