Job summary

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in Singapore is seeking a Trade Operations professional to manage daily import/export transactions, ensuring timely processing within service levels and maintaining high accuracy. The role requires reviewing submissions, conducting documentary checks, and strict adherence to regulatory and internal policies.

You will perform daily reconciliations and prepare reports for stakeholders, while liaising with clients and cross-functional teams on transaction

Qualifications

• Graduate in Banking & Finance.
• Knowledge of UCP, ISBP, URC, ISP, URDG.
• 5–7 years of trade operations experience covering imports and exports.
• Strong risk awareness and analytical problem-solving.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Resilient and adaptable in challenging circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Process daily trade transactions in a timely and accurate manner within service level agreement
• Perform pre-processing review of customers’ submissions and conduct documentary checks
• Ensure regulatory, bank policies, guidelines, control and compliance are adhered to
• Complete daily reconciliation activities and prepare reports to internal stakeholders and/or customers
• Liaise with client and relevant stakeholders on updating transaction statuses and addressing queries
• Contribute to process improvements and other projects as allocated

Requirements

• At least 5-7years of trade operations experience, covering all imports and exports trade products
• Self-starter who can work effectively in a team setting
• Ability to manage daily operations with strong risk awareness, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal skills, decisive in communications
• Resilient and flexible in challenging circumstances
