Great Eastern in Singapore seeks an AVP, Risk & Compliance to lead risk, compliance and governance for Group Insurance, ensuring strong controls and regulatory adherence.

You will partner with business leaders, oversee audits and regulatory reviews, drive improvements, and promote a risk-aware culture across the department. Requires degree in Business/Insurance/Risk Management and at least 5 years' experience; professional certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in risk, compliance, governance, audit, internal controls or insurance operations.
  • Understanding of risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing audits, regulatory reviews and remediation initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional certifications and insurance industry experience are an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Department Risk Officer (DRO) and Department Compliance Officer (DCO).
  • Lead risk, compliance and governance activities across Group Insurance.
  • Oversee risk assessments, incidents and control reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policy requirements.

  • Review and enhance business processes and control frameworks.
  • Support business transformation initiatives from a risk and governance perspective.

  • Promote a strong culture of risk awareness, accountability and continuous improvement.

As the AVP, Risk & Compliance, you will lead risk, compliance and governance activities for Group Insurance, ensuring effective controls, regulatory compliance and strong risk management practices. Working closely with business leaders and corporate functions, you will strengthen governance frameworks, oversee audit and regulatory matters, drive process improvements, and promote a strong risk and control culture across the department.
