Position: Assistant Vice President, Facilities Management & Engineering
Reporting Line: Reports to Senior Leadership

Purpose

The Assistant Vice President of Facilities Management & Engineering is a key leadership role responsible for setting the strategic direction of facilities operations. The role ensures seamless, cost-effective, and high-performance support across various business functions within the organization. The position also focuses on leading and developing a skilled facilities management team, overseeing infrastructure maintenance and upgrades, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence. Additionally, the role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, optimizes resource utilization, and promotes collaboration across departments to sustain uninterrupted operations.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the strategic vision for facilities management operations.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team to achieve operational goals and maintain cost efficiency.
  • Set and communicate clear performance standards aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Develop and manage annual work plans and KPIs to ensure measurable progress.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance facilities management practices and outcomes.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and coach team members to maximize their potential.
  • Provide operational support to multiple business units, including diverse functional areas within the organization.
  • Oversee infrastructure maintenance and system upgrades to meet operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR to address team structure, welfare, and staffing needs.
  • Work with IT to ensure the proper functioning of facility systems, including data centers and critical infrastructure.
  • Partner with Finance for effective budget planning and cost control.
  • Manage procurement and contracts for facility-related supplies and services.
  • Coordinate with Security teams to enhance physical security measures and operational safety.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance by working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee relationships with external contractors and consultants to optimize facility performance and plan for system upgrades or replacements.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
  • Plan and execute both short-term and long-term strategies to ensure operational continuity and sustainability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil) or a related field, with a minimum of 15 years of experience in facilities management, including at least 10 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership, strategic planning, and delivering operational excellence.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in budget management and cost optimization.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and resolve operational challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive experience managing utilities for large-scale properties or estates, including energy, water, waste, and advanced cooling systems, with knowledge of sustainability practices and carbon reduction strategies.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and certifications, including workplace safety protocols, green building certifications, and facilities management best practices.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and the ability to work with external agencies and stakeholders to meet operational requirements.
