Job Description

This is a senior, client-facing implementation and relationship management role.

The Assistant Vice President serves as the primary implementation lead for a portfolio of corporate and financial institution clients, coordinating Sales, Product Management, Client Service, Operations, Technology, Compliance and other control partners.

The role combines hands-on delivery ownership with portfolio oversight, stakeholder influence, issue resolution and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities
  • Own and lead a portfolio of complex or high-priority implementation projects covering account opening, cash management and electronic banking services, from initiation and scoping through readiness, go-live, stabilisation and formal handover.
  • Translate agreed customer solutions into clear implementation plans, milestones, dependencies, responsibilities and success criteria, using structured project management tools and disciplined governance.
  • Chair implementation working sessions and provide concise, decision-oriented updates to clients and senior internal stakeholders, including progress, risks, issues, dependencies and required escalations.
  • Act as the principal client contact during implementation, proactively managing expectations, communication, training and service readiness to support a consistent and positive client experience.
  • Drive timely resolution of cross-functional issues by coordinating relevant business, operations, product, technology and control partners, and escalating material blockers with clear impact assessment and recommended actions.
  • Monitor the implementation portfolio against service levels, milestones, quality standards and readiness criteria, taking corrective action where delivery is at risk and maintaining accurate implementation records.
  • Partner with Transaction Banking Cash Sales teams by providing implementation expertise on Electronic Banking and Cash Management products, onboarding requirements, solution feasibility and delivery considerations.
  • Ensure implementations comply with applicable policies, procedures, KYC requirements, regulatory obligations and internal operational risk controls, with complete documentation and appropriate evidence of approvals.
  • Identify recurring client or operational pain points and lead process improvements that enhance cycle time, control effectiveness, scalability and time to revenue.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of implementation standards, playbooks, templates, management information and lessons learned.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching and quality support to less experienced implementation colleagues, and contribute to capability building and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Support management with portfolio insights, capacity considerations, emerging risks, root-cause themes and opportunities to improve delivery performance.
Decision-making and accountability
  • Accountable for delivery quality and implementation outcomes across the assigned portfolio, within approved solution scope and governance.
  • Exercises judgement in prioritising concurrent client commitments, balancing urgency, client impact, control requirements and available capacity.
  • Recommends recovery actions, sequencing changes, escalation paths and process enhancements when delivery outcomes or controls are at risk.
  • Influences stakeholders across functions without relying on direct reporting authority.
Core skills and experience
  • Relevant experience in client implementation, account opening, cash management, electronic banking, transaction banking, client service or a related banking operations environment. Experience leading complex, cross-functional implementations is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated project and portfolio management capability, including planning, governance, risk and issue management, stakeholder communication and delivery against milestones or service levels.
  • Strong client management presence, with the ability to build credibility, manage difficult conversations and communicate clearly with both working-level and senior stakeholders.
  • Good working knowledge of commercial or corporate banking products, onboarding processes, company structures and KYC requirements.
  • Sound risk and control mindset, with disciplined attention to documentation, approvals, data quality and adherence to applicable policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify root causes and convert insights into practical action.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness and ownership.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, facilitation, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to coach colleagues, share knowledge and promote consistent implementation standards.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, collaborative and committed to continuous improvement.
Job Requirements
Preferred qualifications
  • Degree or professional qualification in business, banking, finance, operations, project management or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Relevant project management, process improvement or banking operations certification is advantageous.
Success measures
  • On-time and high-quality implementation of customer solutions, with effective management of milestones, dependencies and service levels.
  • Improved implementation cycle time and time to revenue, without compromising risk, control or regulatory requirements.
  • Positive client and stakeholder feedback, effective handover to the servicing model and minimal post-go-live disruption.
  • Timely identification and resolution of risks and issues, supported by accurate records and transparent escalation.
  • Measurable contribution to process improvement, implementation standards, portfolio visibility and team capability.
