Job description

Location: Little Village on the Grange, Singapore 239704
Job Scope

As an Assistant Teacher at Little Village, you will play a supportive role in delivering a high-quality early childhood experience aligned with our inquiry-based philosophy. Working closely with the Lead Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the daily routines and care needs of children aged 18 months to 6 years, including feeding, toileting, naptime, and hygiene
  • Assisting in the preparation of materials and classroom environments to support learning through play and exploration
  • Engaging positively with children to build trusting relationships and promote their social, emotional, and language development
  • Guiding children during activities, outdoor play, and transitions, while modelling respectful and responsible behaviour
  • Helping to observe, document, and reflect on children’s learning and behaviour under the guidance of the Lead Teacher
  • Ensuring a clean, safe, and organised environment for children at all times
  • Participating in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and parent communications where required
Requirements
  • Minimum Secondary School education; candidates with a Certificate in Infant/Toddler Care or related early childhood training will be favourably considered
  • Passion for working with young children and a nurturing, patient attitude
  • Strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, and willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow routines, instructions, and safety procedures with consistency
  • Good communication skills in English and Chinese; ability to understand and support classroom instructions
  • Must be physically able to carry out care tasks and supervise children safely
  • Prior experience in a preschool or childcare setting is preferred but not essential
