Job description
Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join the team. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work with a supportive and experienced team, while also contributing to the growth and development of the next generation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in receiving and sending off children during receiving and pickup time (supervised by trained staff)
  • Assist in the execution of routine care duties e.g. feeding/meal time, diapering/toileting, bathing/washing, sleeping/napping
  • Assist in the preparation of learning activities, teaching aids and learning corners
  • Assist in cleaning/disinfecting of resources/toys
  • Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activity plans for the class assigned. May be allowed to carry out the activity plans with the supervision of mentor teacher
  • Assist in documenting observation of children or activities while carrying out activities with children
  • Upkeep professionalism during course of work by:
    • Maintaining strict confidentiality about the children
    • Taking pride in your personal grooming
    • Adhering to the code of conduct at all times
    • Performing any other ad-hoc projects/duties as assigned by the Mentor Teacher / Principal from time to time
Qualifications
  • Minimum Fundamentals Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education.
  • Experience working in a childcare or preschool setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • A passion for nurturing and supporting the growth and development of young children
