THKMC is the charitable arm of Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society, with the mission "To Serve Mankind" — helping anyone in need regardless of race, religion, or culture. Today, THKMC serves over 70,000 beneficiaries through more than 70 programmes across five services: Disability, Early Intervention for Children, Family, Seniors' Community, and Therapy.

Position: Assistant Senior Social Worker (Toa Payoh)
Responsibilities

The Early Intervention for Children (EIC) Services aim to develop motor, communication, social, self-help, and cognitive skills in children. The programme involves small group classes that include early childhood special education, social work, and therapy support to enhance adaptive functioning and school readiness.

This role reports directly to the Assistant Director (Social Work & Psychology).

Role

To oversee the Social Work and Psychology Department at the assigned centre(s), working towards the centre's mission and vision through close collaboration with the Therapy, Teaching, Administrative Departments, and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Social Work and Psychology teams at the centre(s).
  • Enhance service quality through professional development.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including parents.
Supervision
  • Supervise SWs, CWs, Psychologists, and Psychologist Associates to ensure quality case management.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals.
  • Orient new staff to the centre's ethos, processes, and their roles.
Process and Resources Management
  • Ensure smooth operation of social work and psychology services.
  • Maintain consistent practices across staff.
  • Assign referred cases from SG Enable.
  • Manage manpower, leave, and staffing coverage.
  • Maintain full student enrolment capacity.
  • Ensure timely submission of statistical reports for funding.
  • Pass audits conducted by government agencies.
Qualifications
  • Degree or Postgraduate qualification in Social Work.
  • More than 3 years of experience as a Social Worker.
