Job Description

Career Coaching

• Provide 1:1 career coaching for experienced postgraduates, comprising both MBAs and Master of Science students and recent alumni, to help them with their career management journey
• Seek to understand their career goals and aspirations
• Work with them to identify their strengths and to use them effectively
• Provide them with relevant industry knowledge and employment information that will empower them to make realistic career choices and action plans
• Guide students to develop a job search strategy and inspire them to build a professional network
• Guide students through all internal and external career resources (in-house platforms and external platforms subscribed by NUS)
• Motivate students to engage in self-directed online workshops and materials to enhance knowledge at their own pace

Career Development and related workshops and offerings

• Take ownership of the Career Development Programme for the programme/s assigned with the aim of improving student preparedness for job search activities and sharpening career skills
• Curate career-related offerings such as career workshops, industry networking events, online learning platforms and other resources to enhance students' career readiness and career development plans
• Work closely with Industry Relations colleagues in outreach to secure career opportunities for MBAs/MScs

Career outcome - Internships and Job Opportunities

• Monitor the progress of assigned students' internships and job searches
• Review and approve credit-bearing internships as required
• Actively drive/participate in the graduate employment survey response rate of the programme/s assigned

Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand the profiles, strengths and uniqueness of each intake of incoming students, keep abreast of current industry hiring trends and required job assessment skills to prepare students for their job search

Qualifications

• A good university degree with a minimum of 12 years' relevant industry experience gained in financial services/technology or professional services sectors
• Ideally 2+ years' experience in career coaching and/or executive recruitment or talent acquisition; whilst formal coaching certification is an advantage
• Highly energetic, motivated and positive individual with strong organisational and interpersonal skills
• Passionate and eager to support students and recent alumni in their career aspirations
• Able to work independently and as a team

(Appointment job grade will commensurate with the selected candidate's experience)
