Overview

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Sales Manager to strengthen our sales function in the food manufacturing sector. This role is focused on managing key customer accounts, expanding new business opportunities, and supporting management in sales planning and reporting. The position carries greater responsibility and seniority compared to a Sales Executive, with added emphasis on driving business growth and contributing to strategic decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Drive sales growth by managing existing customers and developing new accounts.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Identify market trends and opportunities for product expansion.
  • Achieve sales targets in line with company objectives.
  • Handle major customer accounts and ensure strong, long-term relationships.
  • Provide solutions to customer needs, ensuring product quality and timely delivery.
  • Resolve escalated customer issues and maintain high service standards.
  • Provide input on sales forecasts, demand planning, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with production, logistics, and QA teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support management in preparing sales reports, market analysis, and business reviews.
  • Assist in product launches, promotional activities, and food tastings.
  • Gather customer feedback and share with product development/R&D teams.
  • Represent the company at exhibitions and industry networking events.
Qualifications
  • Diploma/Degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science, or related discipline.
  • At least 4–5 years’ experience in sales within food manufacturing, FMCG, or foodservice.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage key accounts and deliver sales targets.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards (HACCP, ISO, Halal) is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP system knowledge is preferred.
  • Independent, results-driven, and proactive.
  • Achievement of sales revenue and gross profit targets.
  • Retention and growth of key accounts.
  • Accuracy of sales forecasting and support for inventory management.
  • Customer satisfaction and complaint resolution.
