Job description

We’re seeking a dynamic and driven Assistant Restaurant Manager for our modern Japanese restaurant, Oumi. This position will help lead day-to-day operations, uphold service excellence, and inspire a high-performing team to deliver memorable dining experiences.

You’ll work closely with the culinary and service teams to execute regular dining service, private events and even events to the highest standards. Experience in wedding and events are a plus point.

  • Responsible for the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring consistency with established SOPs and service standards

  • Conduct daily pre-shift briefings to align the team on cleanliness, service quality, order accuracy, and promotional efforts

  • Manage and execute event operations, liaising with kitchen and service teams to ensure seamless coordination and guest satisfaction

  • Maintain a high attention to detail, promoting a culture of excellence and ownership across the service team

  • Actively seek and respond to guest feedback, ensuring prompt and professional service recovery

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a dynamic service team to achieve performance goals and uphold a guest-first culture

  • Support sales performance by identifying opportunities for revenue growth and service improvement

  • Manage key administrative functions: reservations, rosters, inventory reports, sales reporting, and basic HR processes

  • Oversee training and development, providing coaching and ensuring high service competency

  • Ensure outlet cleanliness and manage preventive maintenance for all equipment and assets

What we are looking for:

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in Hospitality / F&B Management

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a restaurant or event-focused venue

  • Background in semi fine-dining or F&B operations is highly desirable

  • Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, and premium beverages is a plus

  • Demonstrated financial acumen, with the ability to track KPIs and optimize operational costs

  • Excellent people management, communication, and conflict resolution skills

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and handle multiple responsibilities with composure

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office tools for reporting and scheduling

  • Able to commit to shift work, weekends, and public holidays as part of a rotational schedule
