Job description

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Are you a meticulous and analytical individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for construction projects? We're seeking a proactive Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in the financial success of our projects. If you're eager to contribute to efficient cost management, are a fast learner, and are precise in your work, we want to hear from you!

What You'll Do

As our Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Quotation & Cost Estimation: Prepare all project quotations and cost estimates for construction projects, from initial calculations through to final accounts. This includes meticulous analysis of project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to ensure accurate pricing.

  • Cost Control & Value Maximization: Monitor contract progress closely, identifying potential cost variances and contributing to strategies that maximize project value and ensure profitability.

  • Tender Documentation: Assist in the preparation and submission of tender documents, ensuring all necessary financial information is accurately presented.

  • Contract Administration: Support the administration of project contracts, including managing variations, claims, and interim payments.

  • Data Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all project costs, expenditures, and financial transactions. Prepare regular reports on project financial status for management review.

  • Supplier & Subcontractor Liaison: Assist in liaising with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations, negotiation, and procurement of materials and services.

  • General Support: Provide general support to the senior Quantity Surveyors and project managers as needed to ensure the smooth financial operation of projects.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking a highly motivated individual who is:

  • Eager to Learn: Fresh graduates and individuals with no prior experience are highly welcome to apply! Your ability to learn quickly and adapt to new project requirements is key.

  • Meticulous & Detail-Oriented: Possesses a high level of attention to detail and a meticulous approach to all tasks, ensuring accuracy in calculations, estimates, and documentation. You're someone who thrives on getting things right.

  • Follows Instructions Precisely: Able to diligently follow instructions and standard operating procedures, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.

  • Analytical Thinker: Demonstrates strong analytical skills to break down complex project costs and identify key financial drivers.

  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in using Google Workspace (Drive, Sheets, Docs) for seamless collaboration and data management. Experience with relevant QS software or tools is a significant advantage, but not a strict requirement if you're a fast learner.

  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable and adept at using various technological tools to enhance efficiency in QS tasks.

  • Independence: Demonstrates the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Communication: Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, allowing for clear and effective interactions with project teams, clients, and external parties.

  • Proactive Team Player: A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within the Quantity Surveying field.

Perks & Benefits

We believe in rewarding our team members for their hard work and dedication. Join us and enjoy:

  • Chinese New Year Paid Leave: Enjoy a special 5-8 days of additional paid leave during the Chinese New Year period, as our company closes to celebrate this festive occasion (exact dates vary per calendar year).

  • Medical Reimbursement: We'll reimburse your medical bills for general practitioner visits (e.g., fever, flu, cough).

  • Performance-Based Bonus: While we don't offer a 13th-month bonus (AWS), your hard work will be recognized with a performance bonus tied to both company and individual achievements.

  • Company Trip: We organize a memorable company trip every 1-2 years to foster team bonding and create lasting memories.
