Job description
Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Tender Team, the Quantity Surveyor is responsible for planning, controlling, and monitoring tender drawings, documents, and Bills of Quantities (BQ) for all tender projects, both at tender and post-tender stages. The role also involves supporting project execution by verifying site progress, claims, and monitoring the material balance sheet.

Key Responsibilities

Tender Stage

  • Maintain and track all tender documents, drawings, and corrigenda in line with document control processes.

  • Verify tender drawings/details and prepare tender enquiries.

  • Assist supervisors in calling for quotations, shortlisting qualified subcontractors/vendors, and distributing relevant tender documents.

  • Perform accurate quantity take-offs for tender projects within set timelines.

  • Assist in tender evaluations and preparation of submission documents.

  • Ensure all documentary evidence and records are properly documented, filed, and complied for substantiation purposes.

  • Read and interpret M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) drawings effectively.

Execution Stage

  • Conduct site verification of variations and maintain records for claim submissions.

  • Support project managers or designated staff in evaluating and certifying completed work.

  • Assist in verifying subcontractors’ claims.

  • Prepare, monitor, and track the progress of claims submissions and payments (under the guidance of the Contract Manager).

  • Monitor material orders during execution and report on balance amounts.

Requirements
  • Diploma / Advanced / Graduate Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Knowledge and experience in M&E systems, with a strong emphasis on Electrical works.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Independent, resourceful, and able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Fast learner with willingness to explore new skills and technologies.
