Wah Son Engineering Pte Ltd is seeking an Assistant QA Engineer to oversee quality assurance across precision manufacturing. We are looking for a detail-oriented and committed Assistant QA Engineer to support quality assurance activities across precision manufacturing processes. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings, performing dimensional inspections using hand tools and advanced metrology equipment such as CMM and laser trackers, and ensuring parts meet required tolerances and AS9100 standards. You will assist in identifying non-conformances, support root cause analysis and corrective actions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Drawing Interpretation
Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manuals to ensure that parts are inspected in accordance with the required dimensions and tolerances.
QA Inspections
Perform dimensional inspections using hand tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and advanced metrology equipment, including CMM and laser trackers.
Conduct in-process and final product quality checks to ensure conformance to drawings and AS9100 requirements.
Prepare and review inspection reports.
Process Improvement
Record non-conformances and assist with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Collaborate with Production and Engineering to resolve quality issues and suggest process improvements.
Quality Audit Support
Support internal audits, customer audits, and supplier quality activities as required.
Housekeeping
Maintain the CMM and Inspection Room’s cleanliness and functionality.
Maintain accurate inspection records, quality documentation, and calibration status of equipment.
Matrix Support
Provide support in other departments such as Engineering and Production when operationally required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Higher NITEC in Engineering (Mechanical, Precision or Advanced Manufacturing) – or equivalent Technical Certificate from technical/vocational institutions
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T.
Willingness to support a cross-functional reporting team structure.
Good to Have:
Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management system requirements.
Experience using ERP or production management systems to track job progress and update schedules.
