Job description

Purpose of the Role:

Due to K2's expansion, the APAC technical and delivery team is looking to hire an Assistant Project Manager (Mechanical) to support external design team management and design review work. This person will be working closely with the SG HQ based PM to handle the daily design-related issues for existing and future projects in the APAC region.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Manager or Site Delivery Manager in data centre design and construction phases for site management and construction quality control.
  • Monitor construction activities closely on a regular basis and ensure the data centre facility is built to the group's standard.
  • Responsible for the review and approval of design consultant’s work to ensure design documents are sufficiently developed with all necessary engineering calculations in place.
  • Responsible for communicating with design consultants to ensure all required deliverables are achieved.
  • Responsible for maintaining K2 internal engineering standard with particular focus on HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Support project commissioning and final handover activities.
  • Support K2 internal engineering design and development activities.
  • Establish engineering and operation procedures following K2 standard.

Working Environment Entails

  • Walking job sites which have areas of uneven terrain.

  • Work shifts longer than eight hours in duration.
  • Co-ordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.

  • Use hands to manipulate small wires and objects.
  • Push or pull objects into position.

Skills Set and Qualifications Requirements

  • 6 years minimum working experience in building services design and construction project delivery (data centre projects preferred).
  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer preferred.
  • Relevant Uptime/TIA certificates preferred.
  • Good knowledge in Electrical HV/LV distribution Engineering with a good understanding of data centre projects and protection study.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) with experience in Mechanical HVAC software, such as IES.
  • Good command of written and spoken English is required. Additional language skills such as Chinese and/or Bahasa Indonesia/Malaysia will be preferred.
  • Candidates who are active, initiative, conscientious, sociable, flexible, and optimistic.
