Responsibilities
Prepare customer proposals, tender documents, and fulfill orders.
Manage customers and coordinate with colleagues throughout the process.
Oversee freight business resources (manpower, internal assets, external vendors).
Lead a team, make independent business decisions, and be accountable for profit and loss.
Develop solutions for improving or closing gaps in freight shipments.
Maintain relationships with vendors, carriers, freight forwarders, and port authorities for competitive shipping solutions.
Monitor lapses in service delivery and implement strategies to address them.
Communicate changes in rating principles, states, and operator variations to employees.
Manage carrier ranking and customer priority system to protect strategic business during capacity shortages.
Manage and lead teams in the workplace.
Develop measures to improve vendor management capabilities within the organization.
Ad hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor or Diploma in Business Administration, Logistics/ Supply Chain Management, Marketing or equivalent
At least 3 - 5 years of experience in a ocean freight procurement/ pricing and project freight
Prior experience dealing with or working with public sector will be an added advantage
