Assistant/ Project Freight and Pricing Manager

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer proposals, tender documents, and fulfill orders.

• Manage customers and coordinate with colleagues throughout the process.

• Oversee freight business resources (manpower, internal assets, external vendors).

• Lead a team, make independent business decisions, and be accountable for profit and loss.

• Develop solutions for improving or closing gaps in freight shipments.

• Maintain relationships with vendors, carriers, freight forwarders, and port authorities for competitive shipping solutions.

• Monitor lapses in service delivery and implement strategies to address them.

• Communicate changes in rating principles, states, and operator variations to employees.

• Manage carrier ranking and customer priority system to protect strategic business during capacity shortages.

• Manage and lead teams in the workplace.

• Develop measures to improve vendor management capabilities within the organization.

• Ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Diploma in Business Administration, Logistics/ Supply Chain Management, Marketing or equivalent

• At least 3 - 5 years of experience in a ocean freight procurement/ pricing and project freight

• Prior experience dealing with or working with public sector will be an added advantage
