Assistant Professor/Associate Professor (Tenure-track) in Biomedicine and Drug-Body Interactions
The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), College of Science (CoS) at NTU invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor with a focus on Biomedicine and Drug-Body Interactions.
Research at SBS encompasses a broad spectrum of biological and biomedical sciences, including cancer biology, microbiology, immunology, genetics, genomics, infectious diseases, proteomics, structural biology, biochemistry, chemical biology, drug discovery, plant biology, and biological data science. The school offers cutting-edge infrastructure such as cryo-EM, X-ray generators, confocal microscopy, proteomics facilities, and a computer cluster. Opportunities for collaboration and access to campus facilities are extensive.
Applicants should have a clear research vision, an outstanding publication record, and the ability to establish an independent, externally funded research program. Candidates with a chemistry background, especially those experienced in translating biomedical research into drug discovery, are encouraged to apply. Relevant areas include medicinal chemistry, molecular pharmacology, chemical biology, and pharmaceutical biotechnology.
The successful candidate will lead research employing techniques in these disciplines to discover novel molecular entities for disease intervention, such as enzyme inhibitors, receptor modulators, PPI inhibitors, molecular glues, or protein degraders. A strong research record with potential for securing external funding, teaching excellence in chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, or molecular pharmacology, and contributions to academic service are expected.
