Assistant Plant Manager

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist the General Manager in planning and coordinating production schedules to meet customer demands.
2. Monitor and optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
3. Ensure compliance with FSMS, SFA regulations and environmental policies.
4. Supervise and train production staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
5. Analyze production data and provide reports on performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
6. Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment is properly maintained and operational.
7. Support quality assurance initiatives and troubleshoot production issues as they arise.
8. Participate in budgeting and cost management to ensure financial targets are met.
9. Contribute to continuous improvement projects, employing lean manufacturing principles.
10. Assist in inventory management, ensuring adequate supply levels for uninterrupted production.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field compulsory.
2. 3 years of experience in manufacturing or operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
3. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control.
4. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
5. Proficient in data analysis and familiar with production management software.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
8. Knowledge of ISO 22000, HACCP will be advantageous.
