Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure the hygiene and safe preparation of food in assigned food production areas.

  • Supervise kitchen staff within the designated kitchen operation as assigned, ensuring a five-star product is achieved at all times.

  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to develop their skills.

  • To delegate responsibility to subordinates as required

  • To demonstrate a proactive approach towards the training and development of kitchen staff within the area of supervision.

  • To be aware of food and beverage financial budgets and goals.

  • To ensure that all food items are prepared as per standard recipe cards while maintaining portion control and minimizing waste.

  • Assist with inventory control, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels

  • Contribute to menu development and special dishes, providing creative ideas and input.

  • To ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and correctly and is well maintained.

  • Address any issues that arise during service and work to find effective solutions.

  • To ensure all relevant buffet / display set-ups are prepared ahead of guest’s arrival and in adherence with hotel standards

  • Oversee a specific section of the Pastry Kitchen and manage all activities within that area.

  • Any other suitable task as and when assigned.
