Job Responsibilities

The Assistant Nurse Clinician (ANC) assists the Nurse Manager (NM) in ensuring the department operates smoothly and efficiently, in alignment with the hospital's objectives. The ANC monitors the clinical performance of nurses and assesses the outcomes of holistic care through audits and feedback. Additionally, the ANC provides leadership to senior nurses and other staff, ensuring the delivery of effective, cost-efficient, and high-quality patient care during their designated shifts.

• Reviews patients periodically to assess their progress and to ensure that high quality care has been provided and to ascertain patients’ needs for additional care/services.
• Provides supervisory consultation and support to her staff.
• Attends meetings and participates in committees as assigned.
• Audits staff regularly to keep track of key performance indicators (KPIs) of the department and ensure conformity. Helps with reviewing KPIs periodically and if necessary setting new KPIs to improve nursing standards.
• Assists in managing the ward roster ensuring that there is adequate staff on duty at all times.
• Takes corrective and preventive actions where necessary to eliminate or minimize the cause of existing or potential critical quality problems identified.
• Audits patients’ case notes and nursing documentation to ensure that records are up to date and in line with the legal requirements for documentation.
• Implements and monitors infection control practices and procedures and ensures that the staff understands and follows these policies and procedures strictly.

Requirements:

• Degree in Nursing with at least 6 years of experience in a clinical and supervisory role.
• Proven experience in managing inpatient wards.
• Ability to commence work immediately is an added advantage.
• Must be registered with the Singapore Nursing Board.
