Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renown wildlife parks which connect visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.

We are seeking a capable and proactive Assistant Manager for Waste Management to lead and coordinate day-today waste management operations, ensuring service excellence, operational oversight and continuous improvement of our waste collection and haulage activities. Selected candidate will work closely with service providers, internal stakeholders and supervise operational staff to oversee waste collection, haulage, and reporting activities, and contribute to strategic sustainability efforts.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the waste management executive to ensure timely and effective execution of daily waste collection and haulage operations
  • Oversee and coordinate with service providers and stakeholders to ensure adherence to operational standards, regulatory requirements, and service agreements
  • Verify and approve operational records, including purchase orders and service documentation, for invoicing and sustainability reporting
  • Conduct and lead joint inspections with stakeholders and vendors to assess operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with the sustainability solutions team to identify, implement, and report on sustainable waste management initiatives
  • Support procurement activities by preparing, evaluating, and recommending tenders and quotations for waste management services. Manage onboarding and performance of awarded vendors

Job Requirements

  • Recognised Diploma/Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability Management or a related discipline.
  • Adequate experience and exposure with Waste Management 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Enjoys working in a dynamic, hands-on outdoor environment focused on operational excellence and sustainability, including field-based waste management activities
  • Strong understanding of operational waste management processes, environmental regulations, and sustainability practices
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative, and demonstrates the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a good command of written and spoken English
  • Reliable and adaptable, with the ability to periodically attend site operations during non-standard hours, including early mornings and late evenings, to monitor service quality and compliance in waste collection and haulage activities
